I guess a large population but still… Just awful.   “Don’t become a statistic” is easily one of the most annoying goddamn things about being suicidal. I’m already a statistic. I’m a demographic. I’m a number to the government. I know because I have to show that number every time I apply for a job I won’t get. I am customer 472 at mcdonalds that day. I am part of the statistic for number of minor car accidents and unemployed college students and high school graduates and parentless children. I am already hundreds of statistics and I don’t give a single fuck if I happen to be one more fucking number. It wouldn’t be the first time.  Now maybe I’m misunderstanding it, but the thought process seems to be “Hey you, you’re in terrible pain or maybe you just have a compulsion to die that you don’t understand. You consider yourself to be special and shit right? Well if you kill yourself you will no longer be special, you’ll just be a number and being a number sucks balls. It sucks even worse than your pain. No one will remember who you are as a person, you’ll just be a number to everyone you know. A sad story at most. It’s better to end up as a car accident statistic or maybe a heart attack one. I don’t know why that’s better, it just is.” We’re all statistics and we’re all going to end up as statistics eventually. So, give me an actual reason not to do something instead of some stupid hollow rhetoric.
